I watched the first DVD of Susan Salos jumping DVD. It very interesting and I learned things I didn't know about what it takes a dog to jump. I set up the set point jump to view Mileys jumping. The dog should jump with a curved back and the head should be down. I think she looks good taking off. I'm not sure about as she comes over the jump. Is her head ok, or is it to high and is she taking the force of the jump in her head and shoulders?

I'm no expert- at all- but she sure seems like she lands with her head up. But how in the world would you change what appears to be her natural way of jumping?
I thought her head is ok but in the second clip, she still take off too early! That's just my feeling, let's see what the other says.
Should the back be curved like an "U" or an upside down "u"? I'm confused.
Just great-----now I need to take a physics class!
i think that was good- what you don't want to see is an "inverted U"
I think she is a good jumper physically- but is just taking off too soon (which will be addressed later on in the DVD's I am sure!)
It has been a long time since I watched the Susan Salo stuff, so I dont remember but Is the target set out a little far? I know that is how Linda M delivers the treat with the collection work, low and close to encourage rounded jumping but I do not remember about Susan so sorry if I am totally wrong about that. I would think if she is focusing a little closer to the jump she might have her head looking down a little more and not looking as far ahead which I think encourages her to jump a little flatter? She actually looks like she is jumping nicely rounded but her take off the second time did look a tad early to me too.
In the video she says to set the target 6 feet from the jump. I re-watch it just to make sure. Diana
I think you need to go to using the "spider" (V bounce apparatus). You may need to put the first set point jump closer initially as I see she was able to take 2 steps before the main jump. Read pages 6&7 in the included PDF file, Foundation Jump Notes. I think it is the fourth disk that that file is on.
