Stephanie came home from school and said, "Mom , come quick. I found a dog". She found this Yorkie running free in the fields by our house. She was so matted. And smelled horrible.
Here is what is looked like.

I took her up to the vet. They checked for a microchip. She doesnt have one. They shaved all the mats off her. Who would let that happen to their dog? Sometimes dogs get matted but this takes months. Where do they keep it? It smelled so bad.

Poor thing! She is such a cutie! How could anyone treat her like that? What is wrong with people? Does this mean you have a new dog?
Ugh! My friend called me the other day to tell me that she'd found a little maltese and from the description it was in very similar condition to your silky or yorkie. :-( I hope they both find themselves in a better situation soon. They sure deserve it!
she sure looks happy in the last picture! Probably because you had the matted hair removed!
Oh poor little thing, she sure is cute. Who ever she belonged to had to know those types of dogs need a lot of grooming. Could she have been running for awhile could that be why she is in that condition? It is cold where you are at for such a little dog ;-(
Poor little thing, glad she's in good hands now :) Her owners definitely don't deserve her back after what they let happen to her!
I feel so sorry for the little dog. Unfortunately there are a lot of people don't treat their dogs well.

people suck, it's unfortunate but true.
the little dogs owners will show up I am sure, saying that they just hadn't had time with the holidays etc.....
That's horrible!! My mum's dog came to us like that - awful.
So, is the yorkie staying?
Don't you want to choke people sometimes? She sure does look happy in that last photo! Almost like she belongs there! ;)
Oh, poor little dog! Those mats look just awful in the pictures - I am sure they look even worse in real. Good thing your daughter found her.
