Thursday practice

I took Miley out to the field to practice. I set this up. The first time we ran it , I had the same mistake as at the trial. Swung wide after 11 so she missed 12. 180 post turns are not our strong point. I had decided to put a verbal cue (maybe Meagan told me to do this , I cant remember) on the 180. I use "around". When I ran it the second time, I said "around" and she got it with no problem. I need to remember that. She ran very nicely at the field except she kept dropping the triple. If I set her up at the end of the tunnel, she kept the bar up. When I sent her through the tunnel, she dropped the bar. I rewarded heavily for keeping the bar up and finally she was able to do it correctly. Of course I didn't have my video camera because I didnt think I wanted to video anything. But it probably would of helped me to figure out what was going on.

I have decided not to do any table work for a while! I dont know how to fix the problem and Im over it.
I got out of the shower this morning and my hair dryer no longer worked. My son has been using the old insurance health card and now all the billing is screwed up. Ugh!! Stephanie is hounding me to get her ear cartilage pierced. Uh, dont think so.

glad the verbal was working for the 180. This has nothing to do with Miley and the triple but I was watching some of the videos that clean run posted to go with the ETS article Linda M has coming out next month and I think it is video 7 or 8 she comments on how some of the jumps that they have that are triples where the bars ar in the back can play tricks with the dogs vision so they are difficult for the dogs to do and unsafe in her opinion, I thought that was interesting. You know might be a good idea to leave the table alone for a bit, maybe there will be some latent learning where it will all click for Miley during her table break.., maybe the relief of pressure for both of you not worrying about it will help when you go back and maybe with time a really cool idea will just click for you that will help

Gorgeous pictures- I love the flowers! Looks like a fun course. Maybe a break from table work will be good for you- clear your mind and come up with some great training ideas that you can teach all of us :)

Sounds like you got a lot of valuable stuff done. I don't blame you for taking a break from the table - you've worked really hard and I know that if it was me, I'd want to see some more progress by now, too.

I really love Miley's azalea pictures! She is so pretty and so are the flowers!

The weaves to 11 and 12 looks very difficult. Good for you for figuring out how to fix the 180 with the verbal cue!

I don't blame you for giving up on the table for awhile. I know that sometimes with tricks I am learning but not getting, if we quit trying to do it for awhile, I magically get it when we start up again. Hope this happens for you and Miley and the table!

I had to laugh at your last sentence. I had an email from a parent today who said the same thing about her daughter getting her belly button pierced. Her kid had told me if she got 85 on her report card her mom was going to let her get the piercing. Kids!

Glad you're over your table issues! I bet if you stop thinking about it, it may resolve itself.

First of all, flowers suit Miley nicely! The pictures are gorgeous!

I'm glad your training today was successful. Maybe one day, she might just go on the table happily :)
Hope all your home issues are sorted too :D

Now on to those other pesky problems...lol...

Do you have USDAA in your area? Unlike AKC (which requires entering both classes for a double Q), you can still earn titles in USDAA without having to enter Standard (where there is a table).

Great pictures!

Those flowers are just so pretty. It makes me want summer and cheery flowers now!

Sorry the table, the kids and the insurance and the blow dryer are all giving you fits. Seems like things just all come at once sometimes. :-(
