The weekend

Its been a nice weekend.  It was really windy yesterday but was warm. We didnt realize how warm  it was when we went for a walk at the park.  We had on long sleeve shirts and long pants. Man were we hot.  It was a nice walk.  I had Miley off leash because I had been taking pictures and a bike started coming. Guiness was going crazy. (he was on leash).   I called Miley. She had to think about what she was going to do for a few seconds.  She didnt go toward the bike but didnt come to me. She just stood there. But then made the right decision and came to me. WhooHoo!  I also called her off a bunny earlier this week.  I was walking them and a bunny ran across the path.  Miley went to chase and pulled the leash out of  my hands. They went around the corner, and I thought "crap".  I called her , and she came right back.  My husband said it was because she didnt want to get dirty chasing the bunny through the wood.  LOL, Thanks  a lot.
So her recall is pretty good. No 100% but good.  If funny we are struggling with the simple things in SG recallers class.  I think its more related to impulse control. So hopefully she will be better, the more we work on it.  It will be interesting to see how her start lines will be at the trial next week.

Speaking of the trial, Im feeling nervous.  Im reading all my friends comments , who run shelties, at nationals. They are all doing great.  I will feel intimidated  because they are all coming to our trial.  I really wish Miley and I could get it together and run like a team.  I know its all my fault that we dont. I just wish I could fix it.  Every time I think I have a handle on it, some thing else happens.  I know Im there just to have fun with my dog. And its even harder at our trial because Im in charge and its hard to concentrate on my own stuff.

Ive been having trouble finding tennis shoes that dont hurt my feet.  I have these old tennis shoes that Ive been wearing but I need to throw away.  This morning I woke up with my back killing me. Ive been doing so well since not wearing the ankle brace, my back has felt great.  The only thing I did yesterday was hike with the old tennis shoes on. Its the first time Ive had them on in a couple of months.  Maybe its was that. I didnt run agility yesterday or move any equipment.  So I broke down and ordered those Vibram 5 finger shoes.  I hope that helps. Everyone can't say enough good things about them. So I hope they work for me. I bought the ones you can wear hiking.  I'll let you know what I think.  My ankle is doing better every day.  The last two days Ive hiked, I havent had any of those stabbing hot knife pains in my ankle. The usually only last a few seconds but still irritating.  I still can't extended my foot like I should but little but little its getting better.

Today is beautiful out so Im hoping my back feels better soon so I can go enjoy it.

I love the new header picture! Sounds like you're keeping busy with the pups and the recallers course. I am definitely loving it so far.

Don't get too discouraged about Miley, everything will all eventually mesh together and it will be awesome :) She's an amazing little dog and once you get all the kinks worked out, you'll be clicking in no time!

I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience with the VIbram 5 fingers- I've thought about getting some, but haven't broke down quite yet.

It looks so warm and sunny in your photos.

Sorry to hear that your back is still hurting. You've had to cope with a lot of pain lately. Hope you can get some relief soon.

Congrats on Miley's excellent recall! Bunnies are the ultimate distraction!

The dogs are beautiful in the sunshine and near the stream. They are so lucky to have a neat place like that to walk!

Hope the new shoes do the trick. I know that having the wrong shoes can really mess you up. I'm still searching for the right running shoe. So that I can walk.

Hope the trial goes well. That's a lot of stress!

Sorry to hear about your new and continuing pains! I know what it's like to have pain from old shoes; I've got a habit of not throwing out old shoes, then I forget they cause me pain, and end up wearing them and having incredibly sore ankles and legs for the next week or so.

I love the new header picture, and the pictures you got on your walk are gorgeous! I'm super jealous you have such a lovely place to walk, and such lovely dogs to walk with.

Enjoy the Vibrams! I can't wear sneakers anymore without my feet hurting. When I wear real sneakers now, my feet feel like they are in cardboard boxes. I can't wait for spring to really kick in so I can wear the Vibrams full time whenever I'm outside. Still a little chilly here for that.

You'll get it together with Miley. You guys are both working hard and are there for each other. It will come, probably before Spy and I get it together, hehe.

Glad you got some nice sunny and warm weather! I can't wait to get that here. Love the photos as always!

Sorry your back is hurting so much and I sure hope those vibrams help. I know lots of people swear by them.

You and Miley will do great at next weekend's trial - try not to worry about that or about running it. Wish I could be there to run and to help you!

I am so envious of her recall!
It is mainly us to blame that Eva has a 99% unsuccessful recall.....sigh

I hope your trial goes well. It must still be exciting seeing all your friends coming to your trial!

I hope your new shoes help with the back pain and make your hiking and running with Miley more comfortable again.

I wish I knew the secret to being able to just get out there and enjoy running our dogs, but I know that I struggle all the time to not get discouraged about what seems to me to be a total lack of progress in Dare's training when I look at the people around me. If you figure out what the secret is...let me know!

I know that when I watch you and Miley, I always think you guys are awesome.

Well I'm on my third serious agility dog (Tatum and Lucy don't count, LOL) and I really hope this one will work out. I've had tons of problems with my prior agility dogs, could hardly ever Q, so Jet has better foundation work and hopefully we'll get it together. So I know how you feel! It's not an easy sport, that's for sure!

I hope the shoes work out. I can't stand anything around my toes, so I can't wear those. :)
