Limping

This video was taken Wednesday after I got back from class. Everyone said it was her left front but  I felt like it was her right front.

I called the rehab vet on Thursday. She and her partner were booked even next week. The receptionist said Dr. Y had surgeries starting Wednesday at 10am but maybe she would see Miley before she starts. She would call her and ask. The receptionist called me back and said Dr. Y would come in and see Miley tomorrow (Friday) at 12noon. Wow, that was nice of her.  How could I say I couldnt come. So I went.  Long dreary drive. Miley is no longer limping but I had the above video. She watched it several times. Then had Miley slow walk and trot up and down the hall several times. Then she examined her. Miley showed no signs of pain any where. I really thought it was a shoulder problem. But after seeing her extend Mileys legs forward and then back and then out and no signs of pain, I had to agree. She did this both standing and lying down. She did every other body part too. (toes and wrist, elbows). Nothing. Even she said it was weird.  She had  a significant limp just two days ago and now shows no sign of pain. She said I should rest her for 5 days and then increase her activity and see what happens.  I could have asked for xrays but  this vet has been pretty good at finding things. (iliospaoas injury, shoulder injury and the freaking glass in her foot) . She said she thought of Miley the other day. She came home and her dogs had knocked over the Christmas tree and broken glass was all over the floor and dogs were walking through it.

Well I'm glad it doesn't seem like anything serious. Maybe she just tweaked it.

Yup, there was a definite limp there and I'm with you right front. Sometimes my Tucker would seem to dislocate a shoulder, he would limp until I massaged it. I know for myself I have a shoulder that is easy to pop out, when it does, it's a little sore but that doesn't last long.

How frustrating. Good thing you had the video because she wouldn't have believed you without it! I hope it all gets worked out.

All our fingers and paws are crossed for Miley.

It does sound like a tweak. Hope you don't see any signs of limping again!

It does seem to be a common sheltie thing....Reilly did it on and off too when he was doing agility and they could never find anything wrong.

How strange! Maybe it was just a pulled muscle, like humans can get. Here's hoping it doesn't come back again.
