Miley surgery went well. She had glass in her foot. The doctor xrayed it again after she was done to make sure she got it all. She said she removed 6 pieces which she thinks was one piece that fell apart. She said she didnt have to really make an incision. That once Miley was asleep the area just opened and she just followed the tract. No sutures but her pad will have to heal on its own. Trying to keep miley from chewing the bandage off has been hard. I finally put the cone on her head. Now she is really unhappy.
The puppy pulled one of her ear tapes off, so I removed the other one. Today her ears started standing up , so I put ear weight on them. They may need a little more on them.

a rule of thumb is to keep those weights on until teething is finished, for more stubborn ears, like Kort's, it was almost a year

Miley does NOT look pleased! But, I'm glad that they were able to get everything out. Can't believe it was glass. Good thing you insisted on the xray!
I like the name Java, it suits her! I like her picture...with Miley and her cone lurking in the background, LOL!
I'm so glad Miley had something totally fixable. Pads heal quick-she must feel so much better already. And actually I like ears that stand up-even though it's not how they are supposed to be.
Oh wow. I hope Miley feels better and heals quickly. Her little cone is adorable. I'm used to huge lampshades for my dogs.

Glad Miley is recovering. When my Mom's dog need eye surgery we got a cone called a comfy cone. It's made out of cloth instead of plastic and it worked great.

Glad they did not have to dig around in the pad it would seem that will make the recovery faster and glad they found that glass, I wonder where that came from, it must have really been in there, poor Miley, glad she has such a good owner who kept looking for the cause of all that trouble.
Just goes to show that owners know their dogs and we have to keep advocating for what we think is wrong. Java is a beautiful name for a beautiful puppy! Is anyone playing with her yet? (dogs I mean!)
