Lenses

I rented two camera lens from  Borrow lenses http://www.borrowlenses.com/category/canon.  I rented lenses that I could possibly one day afford to buy. I wanted to rent really nice lenses but I cant afford lenses that cost over 1000.00 , so why make myself want one.  Anyway, I rented a Canon  EF 200mm f/2.8 II USM and a Canon EF 20mm f/2.8 USM. I really like the 200mm. The pictures are crisp and I only get blurry shots every once in a while and its my fault by not having the  focus point in the right place because the dog is moving.   Here are some pictures taken with the 200mm
This was taken in shade. I could have never gotten this with my lens.

"Please , may I have some more".

All the pictures posted on facebook in the last week, including the trial dog pictures, were taken with the 200mm. Except the pictures I posted of my friends border collie, a couple of the close ups were taken with my 50mm lens.

The 20mm lens I dont like to much. If you just want landscape it would be ok. But I just couldnt get what I was looking for.

Well, you get the idea.  So if I rent again I will probably try a 35mm lens.  The 20mm lens I was really on top of the dogs to bring them  close in to the camera. I bet in the above picture I was 2 feet from her. LOL

Here another video ( I know another one???) of Java's running contacts.  There are some tricks in the middle.  I move the target to the end of my yard. I was worried that she was hitting the contact becasue she was collecting  to get to the  target. But I guess not. So time to raise the board.  Yay!!

Love Java's tricks! And her running contacts are very cool.

Who knew you could rent lens? Not me! What a great idea.

Nice. Is the 200mm a fixed zoom? I'm about to try out my 75-300mm at lure coursing tomorrow, so am hopeful of getting some nice pictures with it (certainly will be better than last year at lure coursing with my point-and-shoot).

I would love to hear how you end up liking the 35mm if you try it out. Sometimes I feel like I just can't get far enough away with the fifty to get the shot I want.

Yes, the two hundred was a fixed zoom. I have the70-300mm f4.0-5.6 but sometimes the shutter speed just isnt fast enough. Or if I dont have full sun, I get a blurry shot.

I didn't know they had a service to rent lenses from. That's an awesome idea. I really like the pictures in the first set the best. My favorite picture of the second set was the trail through the woods.

Her contacts are looking awesome!

What a great idea to be able to rent a lens. I wonder if we have that sort of thing around here?

I always love your photos, but I know what you mean about being frustrated when you can't capture what you want.

I didn't know that there are lenses for rent! What a great idea! I've a DSLR but I'm the point-and-shoot person, Rosie and her father are the ones who really play with the camera.

Love all the photos. They are so beautiful and the action shots are really good.

Thanks for the lens reviews! Good to know! I'm not sure I'd like a fixed super zoom...seems like you'd have to be at just the right distance all the time.

But I definitely think the 20mm is a little close.

I have the 50mm prime and sometimes wonder if I should have gotten the 35 instead. I'll be interested to hear what you think of that one.

that is so amazing that you can rent so many things now days, that is so cool to be able to try out something like that before shelling out that type of money, wonder how they keep from getting people mishandling something as precise as the lenses??? I wish I understood my camera like you understand yours!!!
