Shoes and stuff

After we went to Florida and Universal Studios my tennis shoes were shot.  This first day at Universal  I felt ok. But the next day. OMG, did my feet hurt.  Good thing we didnt stay to long because my feet were miserable.  So miserable that the thought of putting those shoes on again makes your cringe.  So now the torturous task of finding new tennis shoes.  All tennis shoes hurt my feet. LOL I use to buy these Adidas and everytime I just ordered the same ones. But they discontinued them. And since then, I cant find anything that doesnt hurt my feet. So before the last trial  I was in a panic to try to find something to run it.  I had run  at the field in my bare feet that week. So when I was in the store I saw these.

They were in clearance for  $25.00, my kind of price. If they were horrible, I didnt spend to much money on them.  I wore them at the trial. I really liked them. I think I ran faster and I could make a front cross without getting stuck like I usually do.  So remember I said they were in the clearance section. Now Im trying to find another pair , since I liked them, but I cant find any. Ive searched  the Internet and the stores. I cant find my size in this style. LOL that figures huh.
I went to a School Nurse Conference  Friday after work and all day Saturday. We talked about social media. The nurse that was speaking, sometimes does work for a lawyer. She said she will facebook friend request someone that they are trying to get information on. And 9 times out of 10 the person will accept her friend request even though they dont know her.    Also, co-workers report things on other co-workers. (nice huh)  SO  becareful who your "friends" are.

My poor dogs havent gotten any attention in several days. So finally I was able to take them for a walk today.
I couldnt figure out what was wrong with my camera setting. All my pictures were dark. I lighten them in a my photo program. So the pictures were all messed up.

See, weird picture. The dogs sure had fun!
The morning sunlight was beautiful!
Crazy dog!
It was pretty cold this morning as you can see the puddle is frozen.

AKC Trial

Well, I dont have any pictures to post. I didnt take one picture. To busy I guess.  I drove up the morning of the trial. I didnt realize I was working the first class of the day.

Ok, I just could not have just one picture for the blog. So I went out and took this.
Miley took 4th in ISC standard. She dropped one bar in every run this weekend. Java got her novice jumpers title. She qed in standard on Saturday and both jumpers runs.

Anyway, I walk into the trial and they are calling my name to work. Oops.  So I put Java and Miley in their crates and went and worked.  But I didnt get to finish because I had to go walk my course, novice jumpers.

I thought the weave pole entry was kinda hard for novice dogs but then the theme of the weekend was nested courses, so all levels had the same opening.  But I was pretty sure we could do it. What I wasnt sure about was the 6 jumps straight out ending. I knew I would fall behind and she was spin because she didnt know where to go. I need to work on my "go on" more. We only had one spin, so that was good. I really thought I would get two. My late rear cross almost caused her to go into the tunnel but she turn on a dime and saved me.

Next up was Miley excellent jumpers run.

Miley missed the weave poles. Then stressed. It was weird even for Miley. Afterwards , when I was walking her outside to cool down, I was thinking maybe I shouldnt run her anymore. Maybe it just to much for her. To much stress. Then she vomited a large amount. Lots of white foam and some food.  So maybe her stomach was hurting. She didnt vomit again all weekend.

My turn must have been late at the end and she went wide.

Next Java's standard run. I knew that jump after the dogwalk was going to be a problem. I figured she would take it.
Its weird how far away a jump looks on this map and but look that far on the course.  So she got the DW contact but took that off course jump. I didnt even know we had Qed. Someone told me.  Who knew you could have one off course and still Q, not me. LOL

Next  up was Miley's T2B.  For this run, my hope was she did her aframe contacts. Whoohoo, she did. We dropped bar. Ugh.

Last up was ISC Standard. I entered this for the experience and there is no table.

Lots of collection in the beginning to get your dog into the tunnel. Lots of dogs dropped the first bar, including us. And several went up the dogwalk even with the handler right there.
Miley did well, did her contacts. She Qed and took 4th place. (you can drop a bar in ISC and still q).

I think I was the only one who front crossed after the tunnel the second time. I figured if I didnt she would take the #1 jump. Most people just called there dog.  Nice run.

I stayed at a hotel with my friend. Im not sure why she agrees to room with me. My dogs always seem to wake us up in the middle of the night. Either barking or  having to go to the bathroom. This night was no exception. A car made a horrible no muffler noise and all the dogs started barking. (other dog people  at the hotel said their dogs all woke them up barking at the noise too). After I woke up I realised I was getting a headache.  I took some medicine. It didnt help. Then I thought maybe I was congested because the pain was over my right eye and temple area. So I took sudafed. That didnt help. I finally took my migraine medication. That took care of it. Except now I had been up several hours and had woken up my roommate too. I felt bad. But at least we got a few more hours of sleep.

First up was ISC jumpers

I walked to the line. I knew Miley was a little over the top from how she acted at the practice jump. I walked in, took ther leash off, I hadnt left the start line or dropped my leash. Miley did a lap around the first jump. I called her to me and made her sit. I never saw the judges arm go out calling a fault.  I lead out and started my run.

So after my run, Miley is all  happy and stuff. The judge comes up and said she NQed me for training in the ring. Making my dog sit at the start after she circled the first jump was training in the ring. Then she said she allowed me to continue but she should have whistled me out of the ring. I dont know why but this really upset me. I feel like Miley and I cant catch a break. I realize that I should have better control of my dog. But I never left the start line. I know the rule if you lead out and your dog breaks, then you cant set your dog up again. I knew if she took the first jump, your run has started. But I never left the start line and Miley didnt take the first jump. Of course everyone is coming up to me asking what happened.  Then someone came up to me and said that yesterday a green handler started her run before the "go". She thought she heard it. They stopped her on the 3 obstacle and they let her restart. So when she restarted, she lead out and the judge whistled her out of the ring. She couldnt lead out because she had already lead out the first time when she thought she heard "go". OMG!!!!!

Im sure you are tried of reading
This is how close the dogwalk was to the end of the wall. That is not right for novice dogs. I can see excellent dogs but novice? Again the courses were nested all weekend. So Java missed the dogwalk contact turning. This picture is of the excellent course. Look how close the table is to the dogwalk and they came off the DW and had to go to the tunnel. I didnt run Miley. I figured the table that close to the DW was a disaster waiting to happen and I didnt need that. ( the judge in the picture didnt design the course, it was the lady who said I was training in the ring)

I probably didnt have the right frame of mind going into the ring. I had just finished the ISC jumpers run with Miley. I tried really hard to let it go but I think it was still bothering me.  I released Java to soon. I should have  got a little more of a head start to I could really push on the end of the dw. Anyway she missed the contact and didnt do her weave poles correctly.

Next was excellent jumpers.

I wanted to front cross between 8 and 9 but I didnt make it. So i had to RC 10. Lots off dogs, even with the RC thought they were going to the weaves. So the front cross was the right thing but I just didnt get there. When we ran, I felt like Miley was slow. I ran down that line of 2-4 and thought, "where is she?  did she go around a jump?"  She finally caught up to me. (this was another reason I decided not to run her in standard. I thought maybe she was sore or tired. she doesnt rest in her crate the way Java does).

Then I worked two classes.  Finally it was time for Novice jumpers and excellent standard at the same time. Ugh. But I decided to not run Miley after seeing the course so it wasnt a problem.

Here is the course map for the excellent standard run.

After the 24-26 inch dogs ran the judge changed the course. Like I said the judge who actually judge the course didnt design it.  She couldnt get around the weave poles after judging the dogwalk contact to see the a-frame contact. So they called the akc and changed the course. The penciled in obstacles are what it was changed to.
I just concentrated on running Javas jumpers course.

Java broke her stay. I didnt know what to do, as you can see in the video.  Hey, I dog who doesnt freak out when I stop, thats a nice change. I kept running since I had practice yet pulling her for not staying in practice.

Not a pretty run but she sure saved me a few times.  We qed and got our novice jumpers title. Not sure we are ready for open but here we come. LOL
I drove home and about 30 minutes before getting home my headache came back. By the time I got home it was a migraine.  It took several hours to go away. Then it came back again this morning. What the heck???  Im falling apart. My headache is gone now. I feel like I wasted the whole day.
(sorry if there are spelling errors. Im tired)

Portrait

I finally got the picture framed that Stephanie did for me for Christmas. I was worried because I picked everything out myself and Im not good at stuff like that. But it turned out great.

I put this one in because it had better color. But then there is the flash. LOL This weekend Im going to an AKC trial. I havent worked Miley all week. I was going to work her a little on Wednesday but its been raining since Wednesday. So Im not sure what to do. She hasnt limped at all since that first night. But she also hasnt had any off leash running either.

The weekend

Its started out slightly foggy. It was warm enough for me to put my feet in the water to take some pictures.
Sorry if you are on facebook and already saw this image. Its just cool (IMO) so Im putting it here.

Not to many people there when I first got there but when I was leaving all the horse people were there. So we got out before having to worry about that.

This hawk was sitting in a tree and I would have had a perfect shot but he flew away. I found him again on the other side of the river/creek but now he was above me. So Im shooting up into the light. It makes it hard to get a nice shot.
She is trying to get a stick out of the tree to take with her.

Blogger still isnt working right for me. Irritating to have to do everything in HTML and then go fix it in the "compose" part. Thats why I have to put a word in between the pictures other wise all the pictures are smooshed together no matter what I do. I took Java to a lesson with Meagan. Hard to believe it was cold. But not has cold as the last lesson. Java did very well. I need to work on my front cross timing. That is what this video clip is about.

Sorry its grainy but there wasnt enough light at the field.

Miley has seemed fine. Im not sure what was all about. So far so good.

I went to the field today to meet someone who is interested in taking agility classes with the club. I went to evaluate her dog to see which class would fit her best. After dragging all the equipment on the field and evaluating her dog, it was to hot to do to much agility. Java was hot so we just did a few things. It was completely sunny at the field and when I got to my side of town, completely cloudy. I could have used some of those clouds. Anyway, Java has 12 weaves. Whoohoo!!

Limping

This video was taken Wednesday after I got back from class. Everyone said it was her left front but  I felt like it was her right front.

I called the rehab vet on Thursday. She and her partner were booked even next week. The receptionist said Dr. Y had surgeries starting Wednesday at 10am but maybe she would see Miley before she starts. She would call her and ask. The receptionist called me back and said Dr. Y would come in and see Miley tomorrow (Friday) at 12noon. Wow, that was nice of her.  How could I say I couldnt come. So I went.  Long dreary drive. Miley is no longer limping but I had the above video. She watched it several times. Then had Miley slow walk and trot up and down the hall several times. Then she examined her. Miley showed no signs of pain any where. I really thought it was a shoulder problem. But after seeing her extend Mileys legs forward and then back and then out and no signs of pain, I had to agree. She did this both standing and lying down. She did every other body part too. (toes and wrist, elbows). Nothing. Even she said it was weird.  She had  a significant limp just two days ago and now shows no sign of pain. She said I should rest her for 5 days and then increase her activity and see what happens.  I could have asked for xrays but  this vet has been pretty good at finding things. (iliospaoas injury, shoulder injury and the freaking glass in her foot) . She said she thought of Miley the other day. She came home and her dogs had knocked over the Christmas tree and broken glass was all over the floor and dogs were walking through it.

That will teach me

So Im feeling better. I do think that it might have been the increase in the medication that was causing my depression. Ive decreased it and Im feeling back to my "glass half empty" self. LOL  I dont think Im a "glass half empty" so much as realistic.

Now the bad news. I worked Miley in class last night. I even switched her out with Java for some of the runs.  After we were done and  just standing around talking , someone said to me, "Diana , look Miley is limping". OMG, it wasnt a little limp.  It was her left front. My gut says shoulder. She didnt fall or show any signs  if injury when running  so I have no idea what happened.

Monday was kinda crazy. I got several emails from someone in our club that I ticked off. (How do I do this all the time? I tick people off and dont even realize it)  I  had set up an agility class at the building so we wouldnt loose the slot to rally or obedience. She didnt have to teach the class , or do anything. I have no idea why this upset her. I apologized on the first emial. By the third email I was so mad, I just deleted it. I thought what ever I wrote just wasnt going to come out nice. I dont know what this person wanted from me.  I wasnt trying to "take over", I was just trying to keep agility classes going for the club. Ugh!!!

Stephanie went back to school Sunday. She had to go back to school a week early for RA training.  Over Christmas break she had a really bad cold but was better by the time she went back to school. She was on antibiotics for an ear infection. Monday she sent me a text that she had a rash all over her stomach.  I told her to go to the Minute Clinic, the school clinic wasnt open, and see if they thought it was from the antibiotic. They felt it was and told her to stop it. They said her ear looked good. The next morning she calls me crying. She feels terrible. She doesnt know what is wrong. She coughed all night long.  She was so upset and seemed scared. It really worried me. I asked if she had trouble breathing, she said no. I asked her if her chest hurt, she said no. She didnt have a fever.  Then she said her chest felt cold and wet inside. (Ive never had anyone describe there chest this way).  I remember seeing a Doctors Care  near her school. I told her to look it up and go there. She did. They said she had bronchitis and gave her antibiotics. Wow , that came on fast. But they didnt give her cough medication or an inhaler. She has had bronchitis several times and needed an inhaler.  She tried to rest that day but every time she laid down, she would call me all upset. Her chest felt heavy.  This was now scaring me. Should I drive down there?  I told her to go back to Doctors Care and tell them you want a chest xray. So she did. They said it was ok. She asked for an inhaler. They gave her one. Once she used the inhaler she was so much better. I think she was probably ok breathing when standing or sitting  up but if she laid down, she was having trouble breathing.  Wednesday she was sooo much better and back to her usual self.  The funny thing was, they took a urine sample at the doctors office. They came in and told her she wasnt pregnant. She was mad. She said, "Dude, I could have told you that. Im not sexually active. Now you just wasted my money". LOL  Yea, dont waste Stephanie's money. I told her its a college town and Im sure every girl goes in there and says ,"Im not having sex".  So they have to  check.

Another way

So blogger wont let me upload my picture the usually way.  Im going into the HTML format loading them and then going into Compose and fixing everything. Ugh, what a pain. I have not idea why its doing that.

Yesterday it was freezing in the morning but I went to the park because Java has been unhappy about doing nothing for such a long period of time. 2 weeks I think. I got the the park and thought about going home because my fingers were hurting so bad from the cold but I finally got out the the field where the sun can hit you and warmed up a bit. Very frosty morning.

My dogs had a good time.

I like this picture. Crisp. All my pictures were taken with a 50mm lens. My long lens isnt fast enough if there isnt direct sunlight. all the pictures would be blurry.
Gotta have some ice.
I really like the color in the back of this one.
The chasing begins.
and
then
then
one more
I finally got out the the field yesterday. It took me a while to set a course. I found loads of problems with each dog. Java wasnt reading rear crosses and her weave poles arent doing well. I guess thats from not doing anything for 2 weeks. Miley, she has problems coming in close and kept taking the wrong tunnel entrance if it was the one closest to me, so we worked on that.

The next paragraph is depressing so you may want to skip it. I dont know what is wrong with me lately. Im just not feeling like I like my life. But there isnt anything wrong with it. My kids are healthy and doing well in school. Lou should graduate on time this Spring. The only sad thing is you realize how different your kid is when he is around other kids his age. (we went to Florida with my family so there was a 17yr, 4 -20 years old and a 22yr old). It kinda makes you feel bad that he just doesnt fit in and will probably never do all the things that normal adults do. I dont think he really cares about all that stuff so I guess I shouldnt worry about it.But still sad. My job is ok. This week has actully been nice. Ive only seen about 28 kids a day. Thats nothing. Before break I was seeing 50-70 kids a day , not including medications. So easy days. Money is tight but we are still ok. Ive been having a lot of fibromyalgia pain. Ive had to up my medication to help control the pain but it makes me so tired its hard to walk the dogs or do anything. I have an appointment with rheumatologist at the end of the month but I know what they are going to say. Same old, same old. I know Im not dying or anything but it just gets over whelming to be in pain every freaking day of my freaking life. My dogs are good. No one is injured . But Java is trying to take control. She has nailed Miley to the floor several times in the last month. If she thinks Miley is overly excited or she is jealous. She hasnt hurt Miley but I have to drag Java off of her and then she goes into her crate for a time out. I dont know why she all of a sudden is doing this. Otherwise they seem like good buddies. Maybe Java isnt getting enough exercise. The air conditioning in my car is broken. And I think we need a new roof. I hate winter. They said it was going to be sunny this afternoon. They lied. Sorry if this is depressing.
